Colorado Mesa University Swim Coach Andrew Parro

Currently based in Grand Junction, Colorado, Andrew Parro served as the head swimming coach and aquatic director at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago between 2018 and 2020. His work in this position resulted in the school’s first championship swimmer in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) competition. As the head of the program, Andrew Parro managed all team administration activities and related operations.

After serving as a kinesiology teacher at Colorado Mesa University, Andrew Parro became the school’s associate head swimming coach in 2021. He is responsible for recruiting, team management, and swimmer development. Under his leadership, the men’s and women’s teams have enjoyed multiple podium finishes in NCAA competitions. He has earned numerous honors during his coaching career, including 2020 Liberal Arts Conference Coach of the Year and IHSA Sectional Coach of the Year.

Andrew Parro completed a liberal studies program at Arizona State University in Tempe. He continued his education at Concordia University, Chicago, earning a master of science in exercise, with an emphasis on sports performance training. He has also completed coaching training with the College Swimming Coaches Association of America. He is a member of several organizations, including the College Swimming Coaches Association of America and the American Swim Coaches Association.
